Nada Debs creates bespoke vases for The Flower Society

The Be Spoken Collection by Nada Debs for The Flower Society translates a contemporary aesthetic using traditional craft techniques for the three bespoke collections of vases. Each collection builds on a different concept tying the worlds of the two brands together. Nada’s work is tied through her ability to distil culture and craftsmanship to create pieces of emotional resonance. In essence, she captures the power of the human hand to tell stories that touch the heart. She calls her approach: handmade and heart made. What connects her world is a belief in the power of design to cross time and border and touch us on a primal level. Nada believes not just in form and function, but in feeling too.

For this collaboration, the designer translates a contemporary aesthetic using traditional craft techniques for three bespoke collections (gear, geometric and mother of pearl) of vases developed for The Flower Society. Each collection builds on a different concept tying the worlds of the two brands together. Geometry is an important tool for Nada, representing complex philosophies with intricate, simple beauty. She uses materials to tell tactile stories, sometimes in pure and surprising forms, and sometimes with intriguing combinations and juxtapositions.

Drawing inspiration from the hand-drawn silhouette of the rose in the TFS logo, Studio Nada Debs has transformed the gesture into a subtle gradient of mother of pearl inlay applied on softly curved vases.

Relandscaping the concrete jungle, The Gear collection transforms arrangements into a landscape of flowers where the pleated wood surfaces of the vases fold into one another. The pleated gear form reflects contemporary, industrial and complexity; this is achieved through the combination of mother of pearl and brushed stainless steel.

The Geometric collection celebrates geometry by applying a custom pattern using the various regional craft techniques; from tin inlay to stained veneer marquetry.
