Porta Venezia Design District’s Fondazione Mudima presents two extraordinary exhibitions that celebrate the intersection of design, art, and craftsmanship, at Milan Design Week 2024. Particulière unveils its latest collection, Natural Disco, while Christophe Delcourt introduces his Horses in my Dreams series for the Delcourt Collection. These collections spotlight the illustrious creativity of renowned designers while also highlighting the innovative spirit of modern design.

Collection Particulière: ‘Natural Disco’

Collection Particulière marks its 10th anniversary with the launch of its Natural Disco collection. The collection is inspired by a culmination of matter, nature and the night, presenting limited-edition sculptural pieces that embody both controlled eclecticism and uninhibited elegance.

One of the most prominent pieces of the Natural Disco collection is the CLOVER dining table designed by Yabu Pushelberg. The table boasts a size of 190 x 183.5 x 74 cm and features brushed oak. The collection also features the SIR frame in gouged oak, designed by Delcourt, and the BLOOM container in Agadoro marble, designed by Studio Anansi. Together, these pieces demonstrate a fusion of various materials such as wood, marble, leather, ceramic, bronze, and brass, all transformed by the creative minds and skilled hands of artisans.

Collection Particulière, founded in 2014 by Jérôme Aumont, is known for its collaborations with international designers like Delcourt, Dan Yeffet, Luca Erba, and Mathieu Delacroix, as well as the design firm Yabu Pushelberg. The brand's dedication to craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics is evident in the Natural Disco collection, which redefines functionality through the lens of discreet luxury.

Delcourt Collection: ‘Horses in my Dreams’

Christophe Delcourt presents Horses in my Dreams as part of the Delcourt Collection. This series of 15 new pieces draws inspiration from the dual nature of horses, embodying both freedom and discipline. Delcourt captures the essence of the equestrian world through his designs, portraying a rider's interior as a love letter to the natural and instinctive beauty of horses.

Delcourt's careful approach is to evoke the elusive. He does so instead of adopting traditional equestrian aesthetics. His designs transform drawings into movement, choreography, and rhythm, resulting in furniture pieces that embody poetic grace. Through an aesthetic of juxtaposition and interweaving, Delcourt's collection seamlessly blends different materials and techniques.

The heart of the collection is the EDY armchair, featuring smoked brushed oak and Delcourt Textiles' COBB 08 Ardoise fabric. This chair is the perfect example of Delcourt's dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail, seamlessly combining elements of cabinetwork and upholstery.

The Porta Venezia Design District, also known as the L’ALTRO district, presents itself with the theme EverythinK is design at Milan Design Week 2024. The district's inclusive and diverse approach to design is inspired by graphic design legend Paul Rand, whose philosophy celebrates the union of form and content.

The district places a strong emphasis on new trends and emerging designers, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and experimentation. The district's focus on sustainability and environmental protection aligns with the forward-thinking ethos of modern design.

The exhibitions at Fondazione Mudima and the overarching spirit of Milan Design Week showcase the dynamic and ever-evolving world of design. These events offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore the interplay of materials, forms, and concepts that drive the future of design and art.
