The offices of the future are being designed today with a primary focus on people’s well-being. Flexible work, social interactions, and a connection with nature will also be important from now on. A profound change is taking place, including an evolution of office furniture. Spanish brand Andreu World has analysed these evolving requirements in order to provide the best circular economy strategies in design, as well as equipment solutions oriented towards its users' health.
Soon, work will no longer be what it used to be. It is possible that even the word 'office' (used since the days when workers spoke in Latin to express their duty to carry out their 'officium'), might disappear. It took a significant event to accelerate this process of transformation, and now, the world is in the middle of a new labour revolution, and the way people use office spaces.
Technology evolved to make everyone's lives easier, but it has come to completely change, in myriad ways. Now, people naturally gather through a screen. Home and work are no longer two separate things for most, and a new hybrid product design catering to this will eventually prevail. Office designs will need to be more sustainablility driven, healthier, and more comfortable, to keep people wanting to go to work. In this advancing context of hybrid working and living, Andreu World has introduced the In Out Office 'Monoplace' program.
There is a need for healthy and inviting workspaces that make employees feel at home while promoting concentration and productivity. The In Out Office program is an innovative solution, with 'Monoplace' as its ultimate expression, making its debut in Valencia, Spain. It is a compact and agile response to the intelligent work environment and the new demands of workspaces.
'Monoplace' stands out as a versatile tool for collaborative communication, offering endless possibilities of use. “Driven by a constant quest for innovation, I always seek to invent new solutions to meet ever-evolving demands. For me, the perfect combination lies in merging responsibility, sustainability, emotion, and innovation,” explains its creator and renowned product designer, Alfredo Häberli.
The In Out Office 'Monoplace' consists of comfortable armchairs with an auxiliary table design, both wrapped in upholstered panels in various finishes. An open and organic backrest gesture is the distinctive feature of this chair design, allowing for an ergonomic and focused posture. Another notable aspect, although not visible but appreciable through hearing, is the carefully designed sound absorption. The In Out Office panels are made of materials that absorb and reflect sound waves, significantly reducing ambient noise. This provides an improvement in acoustic quality and aids concentration in individual or group work.
The furniture design is presented in two different heights, along with optional back cushions and a wheeled base. Its upholstery is characterised by fluid and curved shapes that convey a sense of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Additionally, it can be customised with different fabrics on the back of the panel and the table. It also offers connectivity options, such as power outlets and USB charging, which are discreetly integrated.
