In today’s fast-paced landscape of technological advancements, the Italian brand Lema has asserted its dominance by continually blending modern machinery with the values of traditional craftsmanship. As the year ends, STIR takes a look at Lema’s realisation of most unique projects and design novelty.

1. People:

Federica Biasi, David Lopez Quincoces, Steve Leung, Piero Lissoni and Studio Lissoni & Partners in association with Vandersandestudio and Ufficio Stile Lema, contributed to Lema’s Niveaux Collection, VentiTre, Lullaby Collection, and other design innovations including sofas, chest of drawers, wardrobe, beds, and a bar amongst others.

2. Pieces:

The Niveaux Collection, as designed by Federica Biasi, includes a sofa with several faces creating dynamic compositions. Conceptualised to reflect a youthful and vibrant disposition, it prioritises comfort and peace. The Eureka Bar is an intricate structure intended to fit into a contemporary way of living. One of its signature features is the leather or suede panelling, which conceals a variety of pieces that can be used to frame priceless liqueur bottles and fine glassware, thus demonstrating its inherent pliability as an elaborate treasure trove.

3. Places:

The newly developed Alessi concept store at London's opulent department store Harrods was furnished by Lema. The outcome is a 30-square-metre concept store that provides the perfect canvas on which to display a variety of over 200 Alessi-branded products. Furthermore, Lema mirrored the symmetries of the ambient decor by installing a display table with a glass case in the heart of the room to highlight smaller and more precious objects.

The ITA Airways Hangar Lounge, situated in Terminal 1, boarding area A of Rome's Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport, has an innovative VIP room that Lema equipped. To enhance business and frequent flyer travel, ITA Airways offers more comfort, new areas, and exclusive services. An endeavour that prioritises the welfare of travellers in search of a peaceful haven and vibrant hues.

Event To Remember:

At Milan Design Week in 2023, Lema brought forth its vision of contemporary lifestyles with VentiTre. Through its vast collection including closet, cabinets, pouffes, storage units, and couch sets, the furniture brand realised its goal of being environmentally sustainable.

The concept of conviviality was expressed in Lema's 2023 collection, devoted to bridging the gap between comfortable and friendly environments. The project, created by Studio Lissoni & Partners in association with Vandersandestudio and Ufficio Stile Lema, puts a focus on the interaction between residential spaces and nature.

2023 STIRred our minds and touched our hearts. STIR curates an enjoyable read of year-end round-ups, celebrating the best from the world of art, architecture, and design. Did your favourites make the list? Tell us in the comments!
