Maarten Baas x Lensvelt celebrate Baas chair's fifth anniversary with new furnishings

In honour of the fifth anniversary of launching the Maarten Baas chair and subsequently winning the Milano design award for the best concept, the brand extended the collection with a matching table, a bench and a stool all of which Lensvelt brings to Salone del Mobile 2022 together with their most recent designs and collaborations. One of the most influential Dutch designers, Maarten Baas explores the boundaries between art and design with his work which is best known for its rebellious, playful, theatrical, artistic and often intellectual slant. The Maarten Baas furniture family already consisted of the original 101 chair with and without armrests, stackable chairs and barstools. Being one of our best sellers the Maarten Baas chair in all its variations is applied in many different projects worldwide; restaurants from New York to Moscow, hotels and international businesses, airport lounges and clubs.

The new Maarten Baas table can be ordered in any desired size. The bench and stool are just a logical addition to enable architects to vary in any interior projects or residential. The MB chair is available in eight differently shaped backrests, classified A to H. Lensvelt offers an upholstered version as well as a wooden version. The chair was presented in 2017 at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. The frame is made of steel and comes in standard black.

Maarten Baas and Hans Lensvelt worked together to develop a collection of chairs with irregularly shaped backs. Through a clever technical application, the chairs each seem to have a character of their own, resembling a face. The collection was presented in Milan under the name "May I have your attention, please" and won the prestigious Milano Design Award, Best Concept 2017 during the Salone del Mobile.

Lensvelt's latest designs will be on display during the Milan Design Week 2022, Certosa Initiative / Via Barnaba Oriani 27 / 20156 Milano.
