A global celebration of design, Milan Design Week 2022, is just around the corner, ready to enthrall the globe with the array of events that will take place in Milan. Preparing for this awaited festival, Italian brand Poltrona Frau presents the 2022 True Evolution Collection, unveiling several distinguished novelties together with recent noteworthy products. The collection represents the brand’s journey through time and evolving manufacturing cultures, with sustainability at the forefront of development. Innovative designs in partnership with Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, GamFratesi and glass designer Assia Karaguiozova alongside the furniture brand’s expanded product range aim to manifest the contemporary needs with elegance and comfort.

The collection encapsulates products that conform with the existing brand catalogue and showcase versatility that allows them to adapt to different spaces of a dwelling, enhancing contemporary living with minimum impacts on the environment. The Nice table armchair and the Homey table designed by GamFratesi are the new additions to the dining area offerings. The spacious Nice armchair displays a harmonious bond of the seat and the backrest, while the Homey table establishes a lighter presence with its delicate play of curves. The Archibald and Montera armchairs, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud and Roberto Lazzeroni respectively, will be presented in their new dining versions. Moreover, the iconic Archibald Limited Anniversary Edition, a tribute to Poltrona Frau’s legacy, created in collaboration with Felipe Pantone, will also take the stage.

The living room novelties include the modular system Happy Jack by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, a compact sofa characterised by convex lines inducing a sense of embrace, and the MassimoSistema sofa bed by Poltrona Frau Style and Design Centre, an efficient solution for multifunctional spaces with a size limitation. Its bed version flawlessly hides the opening mechanism ensuring a seamless look. The Poltrona Frau bedroom revolves around the Aurora Tre padded headrest, a soft composition of comforting lines, a reworking of the 2005 design by Tito Agnoli.

Bookcases, an important element of organisation in a space, are reimagined by the Italian brand from two acknowledged collections, Lloyd and Ren by Jean-Marie Massaud and Neri & Hu respectively. Both bookcases, created in freestanding versions, are adorned with refined details and sophistication making them potential key tools for spatial articulation. Decorative furnishing accessories and rug designs also earn a spot in the collection. A new line of rugs by Simona Cremascoli, Water Illusion vases and bowls by Bulgarian designer Assia Karaguiozova stand out in the assortment of decor. The elegance of the accessories add intricacy to and impart style in any environment.

The indoor product collection embodies the concept of ‘true evolution’, marking the company’s 110-year anniversary. It symbolises a unique and authentic journey drawing inspiration from cultural heritage, channelling design skill and artisan know-how with sustainability as an indispensable part of the development – an approach that sets Poltrona Frau apart from the rest.
