Spanish furniture brand Andreu World continues to push the narrative of design that enhances people’s lives, their future, as well as the environment we live in. From bringing adaptable furniture pieces for living spaces that continue to shrink, the brand also remains sensitive to the material and technological impact of furniture production on ecology. In 2023, Andreu World showcased a host of pieces and spaces as well as partnered with some of the most distinguished names in the design industry. Here’s a look at their year that was.

1. People

In 2023, Andreu World’s collaboration with Swiss-Argentinian product designer Alfredo Häberli revealed a series of works, which included a modular collection of workspace furniture called, In Out Office, and a vibrant collection of reconfigurable corners, central modules, chaise lounge, and ottomans of different sizes and depths Dado.

The Spanish company also released their Liceo collection of solid ash wood armchairs, conceived by Italian designer Piergiorgio Cazzaniga.

2. Pieces

Andreu World unveiled several furniture pieces last year. This includes modular designs by French industrial designer Philippe Starck and Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola. Starck’s defiance of normative design reflected in the complexly curving forms of the Adela Rex Chairs, constructive complexity of Mariya lounge chairs, and the democratic design of the Solo Chair. Urquiola’s deftness with creating evocative and circular designs comes along in the NUEZ Lounge and the three-legged Oru Chair.

3. Places

Andreu World furniture offered both functional and aesthetic synergy within diverse (and disparate) office spaces envisioned by Indian architectural firm Ultraconfidentiel Design. Mumbai-based workspace facility for Brookfield Asset Management and Nuclear Office Parks, and the Trilegal Office in New Delhi tie the public and private pockets through inventive furnishing. Open-plan layouts flow discreetly into transparent enclosures, each dotted by furniture that offers spatial efficiency and visual coherence.

The brand also released details of two other workspaces that feature their furniture include Google office interiors in Bengaluru, India, by DWP Interics, and McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, by Studio O+A, IA Interior Architects.

STIRred 2023 wraps up the year with compilations of the best in architecture, art, and design from STIR. Did your favourites make the list? Tell us in the comments!
