"Today, at 50 with more than 20 years of experience behind me. My career is overwhelmed with creativity, sincerity and warm relationships," reminisces Valerie Barkowski. Her professional life is dotted with some wonderful collaborations. From crossing borders to exchanging with exceptional individuals and exploring inspirational territories (Russia, Morocco, India, Vietnam, France). From these experiences and exchanges, a modern mindset emerges from traditions. Mia Zia (1997-2007) and V.Barkowski linens (1997 until now) episodes are perfect examples. "The common thread that brings all my projects together is my love for raw material along with my respect for craftsmanship," says Barkowski. The creation and development of the brands by Valerie Barkowski, seen by many as an endless repertoire of classics, is the perfect illustration of a collective adventure with, as central characters, the Marrakesh craftsmen and artisans, whom Valérie Barkowski always takes the time to credit and never fails to honor.

"It is for these customers but also for newcomers who have an interest in my work that I decide to open the V.Barkowski store in Marrakesh," she says. The collections attract architects, interior designers and private clients from all over the world. "I enjoy matching particular demands and exchanging ideas. Chatting with my customers is important to me because I want to know where my collections go. I also like to find out why they are chosen," says the Belgian textile designer.

Backed by her knowledge and experience, her instinct pushed her to open this e-shop. "A timeless platform where I am able to create as I like. I ponder the meaning for my work, my motto being respect for my collections, my collaborators, my family, my fulfillment. Everything is a harmonious balance between creation, contacts and sincerity," concludes Barkowski.
