Randstad Bikes by Marcel Wanders studio channels equity and diversity

Four years ago, Marcel Wanders studio collaborated with Randstad to craft a uniquely designed bike for the company’s employees across the world. The leading international recruitment agency introduced the Randstad bike back in 2018 as a special keepsake to honour the inclusivity and equal opportunity of the company. The specially crafted bike by Marcel Wanders Studio not only celebrates the uniqueness and diversity of its employees, but also creates a symbol of unity in tradition, while furthering sustainable design. Since 2018, with each passing year, the employees have been receiving a unique bike, crafted with a new material, concepts, forming a meaningful and symbolic collection over time.

With an effort to encourage the company’s philanthropic efforts, the bike also denotes a unique significance. For each bike gifted to its talents, Randstad donates to the World Bicycle Relief fund on behalf of its employees.

Each year, Marcel Wanders studio present the bike in a new light- in meticulously designed body, keeping the core values of Randstad in mind. The bike is constructed with PET felt, a sustainable material created from recycled plastic bottles. Representing the theme of ‘Equity’, the purple and blue hues in its body, are emblematic of ‘being open’ and ‘listen & amplify’ two deep-rooted values of the company. The bike unveiled this year is the first in a series of three, which will eventually form to the complete the rainbow spectrum, each representing three important keywords of equity, diversity and inclusion.

The annual Randstad Bike is enveloped in a striking packaging built out of innovative materials, complete with a brochure of the project developed by Marcel Wanders studio’s Graphic Design department.
