Louis Vuitton recently celebrated the opening of their latest menswear boutique, first in the United States and second in the world. Sitting right at the centre of the Miami Design District, the exclusive store owes its iconic appearance to Netherland-based Marcel Wanders studio.

The design of the facade was developed from a previous pattern created by the Marcel Wanders studio for the Diamond Screen, which was launched as part of Louis Vuitton’s ‘Objets Nomades’ collection, the brand’s furniture and interior design collection created in collaboration with some very prominent designers. The original design of the Diamond Screen was characterised by eight Nomade leather strips arranged in intricate geometric patterns and held together by brass clips, thus recreating the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram in a new manner.

The Diamond Facade of the menswear store is populated by dense latticework, made out of white aluminium strips arranged in such a manner that they appear busy during the day, but let soft luminescence peek out from between the lattices at night. It also serves as a brilliant backdrop to the Louis Vuitton logo that stands out prominently against the sober and elegant facade. The final colour palette used for the lattices and the Louis Vuitton logo is in tune with the Miami modernist style, fitting in well in the Miami neighbourhood.

The interiors of the store are characterised by a large collection of shoes, watches, fragrances and other high-end accessories sitting against the industrial interiors of the store. A few statues and artworks by local artists also adorn the space, making it relevant enough to sit at one of the prime locations in Miami.

The event that marked the launch of the menswear boutique also served as a tribute to Virgil Abloh after his untimely demise this year and saw a healthy attendance of some of the most prominent names from the design and entertainment industry.
