The Italian meta luxury brand Visionnaire expands its repository of accolades with the Siona bar unit, designed by Matteo Cibic for the latest Nomad collection, winning the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards 2024 for concept and design. The product design by Visionnaire is a striking piece that embodies modern elegance and sophistication. Its presence elevates any living space, making it a centrepiece for social gatherings and a testament to the Italian brand's commitment to bespoke Italian design.
Matteo Cibic, an Italian transmedia artist and designer, is recognised for his whimsical, anthropomorphic creations that seamlessly blend functionality and luxury. Cibic's work blurs the lines between art and design, resulting in a unique style. Whether creating an object with a precise function or a sculptural piece with a joyful form, his work always evokes a sense of whimsy. This is how the Siona bar unit was born, characterised by a sculptural base made of antique brass and rounded edges, emphasising fluidity and innovation. Designed to merge function with artistry, the furniture design features a sleek silhouette enhanced by fine materials and careful craftsmanship.
"Imagine a meticulously designed piece of furniture, drawing inspiration from the avant-garde aesthetic of 1970s Italian automotive design. This refined creation boasts bold, rounded edges, evoking the era's emphasis on fluidity and innovation," says Cibic. "Its square brass base not only provides visual contrast but also symbolises a harmonious blend of strength and refinement, mirroring the engineering mastery found in iconic automobiles of the era", the Italian designer adds.
The annual design award brings together pioneering voices in the design world to reflect upon today's global creative landscape. Its international jury panel included some of the most sought-after architects, designers, journalists, architectural photographers and creative directors from across the globe. Outstanding work by brands and designers was acknowledged, platforming objects in specific which make people feel protected, celebrate diversity and move beyond conventions.
