Italian brand Lema is proud to announce its presence at 'From Italy with Love', the initiative that brings Italian excellence to New York for two months. The company participates in the prestigious project Italian Design: from Classic to Contemporary by Bloomingdale's, an exclusive design event celebrating Made in Italy and its global impact on luxury, fashion, culture and gastronomy.
From September 4 - 29, 2024, one of the Big Apple's most iconic department stores will host a pop-up dedicated to Made in Italy furniture designs, with Salone del Mobile.Milano as an exclusive partner for a special installation curated by the renowned designer, Ferruccio Laviani.
Inspired by the Italian squares and the metaphysical art of Italian artist and writer Giorgio de Chirico, the installation highlights the heritage and creativity that characterise Salone del Mobile.Milano and its companies. Among the protagonists of this exceptional exhibition, Lema stands out with its Alton armchair designed by David Lopez Quincoces.
With its sculptural character, the Alton armchair is a true tribute to Italian design and craftsmanship. The chair design's metal frame defines a semi-circular shape that accommodates the backrest, which features unique tailoring. With over 200 metres of aged natural leather cord, expertly hand-wound, Alton represents the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. The rigour of the external lines blends harmoniously with the enveloping seat, available with fabric or leather upholstery, and enriched with a soft cushion for maximum comfort.
Lema's participation in 'From Italy with Love' is not only an opportunity to showcase the excellence of Italian design but also to underline the importance of tradition and innovation, values that have guided the company since its origins. This event represents an exceptional international showcase, in which Lema confirms its leadership in the luxury furniture sector, bringing an iconic piece of contemporary design to New York.
Lema invites visitors to discover the Alton armchair and immerse themselves in the universe of Made in Italy at Bloomingdale's, an opportunity to explore the elegance and creativity of Italian design, in a context that celebrates beauty and craftsmanship.
Lema's 'Alton' armchair will be on view from September 4 - 29, 2024, in 'Italian Design: from Classic to Contemporary' by Bloomingdale's in New York.
