Kartell unveils new flagship store in the trendy NoMad district of New York City

Italian brand Kartell has opened doors to its new store in New York, showcasing a wide range of fresh products in a comprehensive and immersive setting.

Italian design brand Kartell has unveiled their new home in the NoMad district in New York. Situated at 152 Madison Avenue, on the northwest corner of East 32nd Street, this newly established 399.48 sqm flagship store spans two floors of a historic 1920s building. Four windows overlook both streets on either side of the expansive space, which is conceived as a perfect setting to exhibit Kartell's product designs and lifestyle collections.

“This venue allows us to present a more comprehensive and immersive experience of Kartell, offering our new idea of lifestyle to retail customers, as well as architects and industry professionals. The relationship between Kartell and New York began in 2000, with the opening of our first store. Today, the new locations’ architecture is better suited to showcase the wide range of new furniture and lighting designs, allowing for complete settings and layouts that truly enhance the shopping experience,” states Lorenza Luti, Kartell’s marketing and retail director.

The opening proves to be a testament to the brand’s commitment to maintaining a presence in key international cities. By choosing such a prime location within the vibrant NoMad district—an area that has quickly become a prominent destination in the city’s design scene—the brand reaffirms its unwavering dedication to creativity, beauty, as well as art and design, all of which remain at the core of its philosophy. “We chose to move from our original Greene Street location to a larger space with more spacious windows in the NoMad district, a neighbourhood renowned for its focus on design,” Luti adds. 

As part of its expansion strategy, Kartell is now focusing on larger stores, such as the latest New York outpost, to showcase its ability to offer comprehensive living solutions that encompass a wide range of lighting and furniture designs including upholstered sofas, armchairsside tables, lights, chairs, table designs, along with carpet designs, upholstering the brand’s dedication to remaining at the forefront of cutting-edge technological advancements. This expanded product range allows Kartell to present a holistic vision that meets the high demand for residential and hospitality projects across the market, all while catering to the discerning tastes of a sophisticated global clientele.

Alongside the brick-and-mortar store expansions, Kartell is actively developing its e-commerce platform to cater to customers across the United States. “The American market is very strategic for Kartell. For several years, the brand has been focused on strengthening its sales network, both offline and online. As part of this strategy, Kartell recently opened a store in Miami, boasting a spacious 492.38 sqm area. Additionally, the implementation of our e-commerce platform has garnered positive feedback and satisfaction,” shares Luti.

Kartell recognises the significance of maintaining a multi-channel approach that integrates both, online and offline sales, providing a seamless and consistent customer experience.
