The William Morris Design Line shines a light on the richness of Walthamstow’s past and present creative community and encourages visitors to discover, learn and interact with an incredible range of design and creative activity. The District encompasses the thriving Blackhorse Lane area, recently made a Creative Industrial Zone by the Mayor of London, Forest Road which is home to the William Morris Gallery and the Wood Street which is brimming with street art by internationally renowned artists curated by Wood Street Walls. 
Inspired by Morris’s statement “art made by the people for the people” the Design Line shines a light on the richness of Walthamstow’s past and present creative community and encourages visitors to discover, learn and interact with an eclectic mix of design and creative activity. The themes of identity and community power underpin the route and weave together a creative journey and design narrative from Wood Street to Blackhorse Lane via Forest Road.
The Design Line promises to host an eclectic and vibrant programme. Interactive installations, exhibitions, tours, workshops and open house activities will take place in an array of venues and spaces across the route including colleges, community spaces, pubs and breweries which will throw open their doors. 
Highlights
WOOD STREET STUDIO: LACY NOOK - Situated in Wood Street Studios and is a restaurant and creative space which will be exhibiting local design throughout the week!
THE BLACK HORSE: EXHIBITION - Street artist Irony has installed a stunning mural of a horse which you can see during the opening hours of the bar.
BLACKHORSE WORKSHOP: 8 YEAR ANNIVERSARY - Celebrating 8 years of inspiring and supporting making in the community. Presented by our resident designers and makers, as part of the William Morris Design Line
STREET ART TOURS - Join one of six guided street art tours taking place in Walthamstow for the William Morris Design Line with each unique tour featuring a minimum of 10 works.
THE WILLIAM MORRIS GALLERY - A Curator-led tour of some of Morris’s most famous designs, exploring how his innovative design shaped 20th-century trends and continues to inspire today.
