Abiding by an approach to create organic and warm products with timeless aesthetics that preserve inner beauty, Japanese design brand Ritzwell addresses the cruciality of design for people who are overwhelmed by the stress of modern-day living. Founded in 1992 in Fukuoka, Ritzwell has grown into an important contemporary furniture brand, creating furnishings that bring together tradition and modernity. Marking a milestone, the brand’s 30th anniversary, Ritzwell joins Salone 2022 with some novelties and some additions to already existing lines, revealing to the eyes of the public for the first time, Leewise Exclusive Sofa, Mo Bridge Bench Wooden Structure, Mo Bridge Square Bench Wooden Structure, and MT Table.

The Leewise Exclusive Sofa designed by Junichiro Watanabe in collaboration with Ritzwell, is a modular design that features a low seat bringing to mind the traditional Japanese style of sitting, soft and large cushions placed delicately on the modern structure which is entirely made in solid ash adding to the comfort. The details on the backrest and armrests are particularly impressive, as they are formed by thin wooden staves that form a grid that serves as a decorative element and a functional component simultaneously. A strong sense of serenity and comfort emanates from the contemporary aesthetics of this piece, which is ensured by the dexterously calibrated proportion between all its parts.

Extensions of the admired MO Collection, Ritzwell will present the MO Bridge Bench wooden structure and the MO Bridge Square Bench wooden structure by Shinsaku Miyamoto. These two new benches vary in sizes and proportions, but are closely related by their wooden structure as well as by the seat which displays a playful interweaving of leather. The ancestral ‘artisanal know-how’ of the past unites with the essential lines that express the contemporary design of these pieces: they can be used both as seating solutions and as surfaces to occasionally place objects or as polyfunctional pieces of furniture.

Another creation of Shinsaku Miyamoto, the MT table strikes a perfect balance between two seemingly contrasting elements: the wide solid wood top and the slim metal legs. The warm presence of the wooden element dialogues with the lightness of the metal structure, uncovering a delicate harmony. Its stylistic language makes it relevant with both traditional and contemporary chairs. The MT table showcases a slightly rounded profile of the top which is extremely smooth and elegant in its appearance. The table can be personalized choosing from the wide range of sizes and finishes for the structure and that of the wooden top.

Going beyond merely fulfilling the requisites for function and aesthetics, Ritzwell furnishings also express a response to the requisites of the soul, which recognises their harmony and the craftsmanship that gives shape to every single detail. Displaying a selection of high-quality materials such as solid wood, leather, softer leathers, and the most versatile natural fabrics, the furniture designs aim to preserve their beauty season after season, acquiring a ‘patina of time’ (furubi in Japanese). The result of this attention-to-detail and in-depth research is an increasing engagement of international architects, interior designers and audiences. The brand's broad catalogue continues to achieve enhancement of the most sophisticated projects.
