Iconic fashion label Ralph Lauren, known worldwide for their premium lifestyle products, opens the door to its opulent Milanese palazzo, offering an exclusive access into the luxury brand’s cinematic vision. Open by invitation and appointment only during Salone del Mobile.Milano, Palazzo Ralph Lauren transforms into Ralph’s Milan, a novel destination dedicated to the celebration of classic and timeless design and American lifestyle. “I have always been inspired by the way people live out their dreams all over the world and the city of Milan especially has touched me with its refinement, beauty, and history. I am excited to share my personal vision of living in the beautiful palazzo that is my home in the heart of Milan,” shares Ralph Lauren, fashion designer, philanthropist, businessman and founder of his eponymous brand, in an official statement.
The event, spread over one week, features several glamorous moments of entertainment within the signature Ralph Lauren surroundings. Accompanied by an exclusive preview of the Fall 2022 home collection, a celebratory cocktail party hosted by David Lauren and several design conversations spearheaded by industry experts, the palace will transform into an exposition evocative of Ralph Lauren’s vision that has emerged as a consequence of exposure to the myriad traditions found across the globe.
This 12,000 sqft Rationalist-style property was designed by Italian architect Mino Fiocchi for the Campanini Family in 1941, and is since known as Casa Campanini-Bonomi. It has served as the Milan Headquarter for Ralph Lauren since 1999. While the facade and exterior areas of the palazzo remain preserved, the interiors have metamorphosed to reflect Ralph Lauren’s approach towards lifestyle and the imaginative worlds he has created in the past 50 years. The result is a proximal placement of the cascading green Guastalla gardens designed by Fiocchi against the classic patterns and compositions in the interiors of the palace.
Entering Ralph’s Milan is like setting foot into an elegant historic residence that appears calm against the high-energy Salone fair. Welcomed by green serpentine marble walls, visitors are ushered into a grand estate that truly captures the sophistication and privacy characteristic of Milanese culture. Moving further into the property, one witnesses refined interiors such as heirloom quality furnishings sculpted from rich mahogany, romantic floral arrangements, and antique brass and burnished leather mix with an unexpected pairing of tartans, paisleys and zebra prints, all of which mimic the American design sensibility and are quintessentially Ralph Lauren in style.
Another experience curated to reflect the fine art of living by Ralph Lauren includes a courtyard dressed in patterns and colours from the home collection and meant for an al fresco dining. Washed in classic blue and white ticking stripes, florals, and checks, all of which make up Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2022 home collection titled Palazzo Collection, the fine dining setting offers a glimpse of the latest offerings by the fashion brand. All in all, Ralph’s Milan is a glimpse into another Milan as envisioned by Ralph Lauren. Consequently, every element within the setting is reflective of the iconic fashion designer’s sense of style and aesthetic.
Ralph’s Milan is open by appointment and invitation only from June 7 to June 11, 2022 at Palazzo Ralph Lauren, Via San Barnaba, 27, 20122 Milan, Italy.
