During the Milan Design Week 2022, Florim— and its corresponding brand Cedit will be hosting their latest design exhibitions intending to harness contemporaneity in design alongside the ability to venture into the ever-developing realms of the digital world. The design company, with its subsidiary, is a pixel in the larger design week picture which is all set to commemorate in Milan from 7th June 2022 till 12th June 2022. Over 2000+ designers return with a plethora of installations and design interventions after two years hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. It puts forth an ‘empty canvas’ for its protagonists to approach and colour with their design ideations and contexts.
Florim is an Italian manufacturing company that specialises in wall and floor surfaces alongside bespoke porcelain tiles and slabs. The Italian manufacturer works with the highest social and environmental standards to promote eco-friendly luxury. Florim’s subsidiary brand Cedit works with numerous iconic designers such as Cristina Celestino, Elena Salmistraro and Giorgio Griffa, to create a bespoke collection of porcelain wall and floor tiles.
Firstly, the collaborative project ‘Design Expressions’ by Florim weaves a story through the means of luxury, creativity, architecture and contemporary design. The exhibition project is the brainchild of the world-renowned architect and designer Matteo Nunziati who directs the expression of Florim’s brand identity as a collective portrayal of all its souls. Through the designs for Heritage Luxe and Nature Mood collections, Matteo showcases different but complementary design styles in the same verse. The Florim stand at Salone del Mobile and the Foro Buonaparte showroom will be narrating the story of the four settings with a strong identity featuring large slabs for the two corresponding collections.
Furthermore, Cedit’s ‘New Future Treasures’ ponders upon the expanding world of digital realities owing to the metaverse. For experimenting and exploring virtual reality, the brand embraces the past, present and future. It transforms a museum into a timeless space where the ceramic surfaces rise higher to dematerialise every corresponding identity. The virtual NFTs act as an invitation to enjoy and appreciate art in a new way. Moving through the Cedit collections, one can notice the intertwining of different expressions and languages where the references and symbolism coexist in historical ruins. While existing in a certain bewildering classicism, they also wander across the projections for the future thus creating an immaterial place where material surfaces come to life.
