“Like nests on the branches, a glass and a cup wait for the rain,
Glass Nightingales they will come soon to quench your thirst.”

Mario Trimarchi's artworks and product designs draw inspiration from nature, and his latest sculpture, in collaboration with master glassmaker Massimo Lunardon, being presented at Milan Design Week 2023, is a sculptural interpretation of borosilicate glass as a material. Titled Still Life, the sculpture is being displayed at the exhibition Water - Transparency of glass at Antonia Jannone in Corso Garibaldi 125 Milan, Italy from April 18 to 23, 2023 along with nine designs from other designers.

The brief was to conceive of an object/sculpture using borosilicate glass exclusively as a material, with the only restrictions being the usage of no colour and the size of the works fitting into an abstract cube of 40 x 40 x 40 cm. The result was an abstraction that derives from nature.
