Teaming up with fashion brand G-Star RAW, Maarten Baas makes a return to Milan with the exhibition 'More or Less'. Set within the grandiose surroundings of the 16th-century church of San Paolo Converso, the exhibition is sure to catch visitors off guard. For the event, Baas created three functional cabinets from recycled G-Star jeans. As well as being made from denim, they resemble a pair of jeans and can also be used to store your denim essentials.
The installation at the fair is created from recycled jeans collected in G-Star's stores. It shows the endless possibilities of denim and explores the everyday dilemma: the desire for more - and the planet's need for less.
"Each year in Milan, I enjoy the tragicomic dialogue between green design and mass consumption. When G-star approached me to work with recycled jeans, this was the perfect opportunity to address this curious dilemma instead of just acting as if we are saving the world. We are well on our way. More or less…," says Maarten Baas.
Maarten Baas's 'More of Less' is on view from April 18 to 23, 2023, from 11AM to 6PM, at Chiesa San Paolo Converso, P.za Sant'Eufemia, 1, Milan, Italy.
