Villa Firenze Contemporanea, a showcase that was inaugurated on October 19, 2023, was born with the ambition of highlighting contemporary art and the excellence of Italian design, through a showcase for artists and designers as well as for companies, with an intent to strengthen their role in this important market.

The one-of-a-kind project showcasing the best of Italian art and design was managed by Renata Cristina Mazzantini, who selected over 50 works of art and design, all representative of Italian creativity and elegance, and placed them in the context of the Tudor-style architecture of Villa Firenze.

The exhibition installation includes various creative expressions, from figurative to abstract, from conceptual to environmental art, from painting to sculpture art, and also includes around 30 objects conceived by Italian designers and produced by Italian companies. All are strictly 'Made in Italy,' and at the same time, significant to the mutual ties and influences between Italian creators and the United States.

Villa Firenze Contemporanea is an integrated and cultural promotion initiative which takes its name from the Residence of the Italian Ambassadors in Washington and was inspired by the 'Quirinale Contemporaneo' projects at the Quirinale Palace and the 'Farnesina Collection' of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The three-year installation was produced by the Embassy of Italy in Washington, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute.

The exhibition has also been illustrated in a catalogue published by Treccani, with photos by Maestro Massimo Listri. Villa Firenze Contemporanea was made possible owing to the contributions of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Assicurazioni Generali, IntesaSanPaolo and ENI.
