Morton Street Partners
United States
Morton St. Partners, a curatorial project merging the worlds of contemporary art and collectible cars, premiered their 3,000 square-foot West Village location with a launch exhibition "Unsafe At Any Speed" curated by veteran art-world provocateur Kenny Schachter in March 2022. Their programming will continue to platform artists, designers, institutions, and automobiles from around the globe.
Collectible cars are selling at auction for record-setting prices, art institutions are staging car-centric exhibitions like Automania recently on view at MoMA, and premier car makers are increasingly pursuing artist collaborations, all raising the aesthetic regard for automobile design and setting the stage for Morton St. Partners’ intrepid curatorial project.
Located at 16 Morton Street (between Bleecker Street and 7 Avenue South) at the heart of the West Village, Morton St. Partners has taken over the ground floor of a 19th-century carriage house, a lofted white cube space capable of accommodating two parked cars for every exhibition, and with a working garage door that defines the building’s unique façade.
