The earliest flowers to bloom in spring are those who stay at home forever, is a tapestry made out of melted plastic flowers that offloads the question of the boundaries between the fake and the real, what is considered valuable or not on our everyday materiality.

While natural ornaments are related to romantic and specific standards of taste, plastic imitations are usually considered untasteful imitations, linked to a certain societal class, and used in temporary arrangments.

As a way to offload this contradiction, the piece brings together both perspectives through melting by hand 450 pieces of plastic flowers into a single tapestry piece.

Melted plastic flowers, 170x170 cm, 2020.
