Meta-luxury brand Visionnaire, well-established in the sector of interior design Made in Italy, is renowned for its unique designs tailored to its clients. The year gone by was filled with exciting collaborations that gave birth to product designs, new collections and even the Italian brand’s debut residential project in Dubai. As the curtains on 2023 drop, STIR looks back at people, pieces, places and events that highlighted the year for Visionnaire and furthered their creative ethos.

1. People:

The luxury brand introduced the captivating Volare collection this year—an ensemble of striking furniture designs conceived in collaboration with talented designers across the world. The collection featured some of the world's most seminal names in design including Alessandro La Spada, Steve Leung, Mauro Lipparini, Draga & Aurel, Studiopepe, m2atelier and Gupica.

Volare, Visionnaire’s first residential project in Dubai was realised in collaboration with a local partner Volare Real Estate, and Italian designer Alessandro La Spada, expanding on the long-standing creative partnership.

2. Pieces:

In 2023, Visionnaire unveiled Volare, a new concept created to narrate a true philosophy of living and a sartorial approach to the production of unique objects. The brand developed furniture designs, lighting designs and artworks that cater to luxurious living, dining, bedroom and outdoor settings.

Villa D’Este, designed by Mauro Lipparini is a contemporary rendition of classic design techniques, embodying fine craftsmanship and attention to details. The finest materials and finishes complete the kitchen system: American ziricote wood Patagonia quartzite, placed in dialogue with the sparkling brilliance of the faceted engraved glass and the luminous lines wisely carved and integrated into the depths of the boiserie.

Duncan hideaway kitchen by Alessandro La Spada is conceived as a treasure chest—the metallic sliding panel arranged to form an elaborate geometric pattern that contains the kitchen.

La Spada also developed a new fitness collection for Visionnaire, titled Kloster Fitness Collection. The ensemble encompasses training objects such as a pilates ball, a bench, a punching bag and a mat holder for body exercises.

Studiopepe’s new chair design for Visionnaire dubbed Shibari highlights the power of symbols as a medium of expression. The knot, a symbol that inspired the design, connects and comes together in a harmonious silhouette; when extended horizontally, it links back to the symbol of infinity.

Brubeck sofas and armchairs with motorised adjustable seats and backrests, equipped with a drink cooler and an accessory pocket, make the viewing experience comfortable and relaxing. The delicate light in the armrest structure introduces a soft glow to the room without causing distractions on the screen.

Visionnaire introduced its exquisite Lighting Collection 2023 for the festive season, with a diverse range of lamp designs, chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling lamps, table lamps, wall lamps as well as suspension lamps.

Aracea is a lamp inspired by a liana with large oval and heart-shaped leaves. Natural forms are simplified and stripped down until they become the components of a functional object, while the LED light source passes through the central rib of the leaf. It is available as a floor, wall, table, suspension, and sky-floor lamp.

Polaris is a table lamp composed of a curved element in polished aluminium on the outside and satin-finished aluminium on the inside, with a diffuser in backlit vein-cut marble with raw cut edges.

Lucente is a light design project designed by Gupica for Visionnaire. The collection takes cues from the behaviour of light that breaks and reflects on the faceted surfaces of precious stones, giving life to intriguing luminous effects. The diffusing bodies of the lamps are composed of a first-second material, obtained from the regeneration of PMMA—commonly known as Plexiglass.

3. Places:

2023 also marked Visionnaire’s first foray into residential design with Volare, a luxury villa design on the shores of Jumeirah Bay Island in Dubai, in collaboration with a local partner Volare Real Estate. Spanning 2,000 square metres, the villa embodies Visionnaire’s ethos, while elegantly imbibing the location's expression.

4. Events to remember:

Two products from Visionnaire’s Volare collection, Shibari armchair and Duncan kitchen were announced the winners of the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards 2023. The products won awards in the furniture and kitchen categories respectively.

In the L’impero dei sensi project, Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto presented a capsule collection of three pieces, designed by Studiopepe for the Italian brand: the Shibari chair, the Parade lighting system and the Blanche set of two mirrors. The immersive installation at Milan Design Week 2023 focused on the senses as tools of knowledge.

The Leonardo bookshelf by Visionnaire was announced the winner of the 2023 Wallpaper Design Awards in the Best Sleeper Hits category. The bookshelf was introduced to the Leonardo family, confirming the design language with its open design and soft backlighting, making it ideal for a space where books or your beloved collection can shine.
