Located in a charming Italian countryside, Porro practices what it preaches; a life of progressive simplification. Ever since its establishment in 1925 in Brianza, Italy, Porro has focused on understanding design, materials and the textural values of various elements, ultimately establishing an international vocation for creating furniture pieces of exceptional quality. With Salone Del Mobile.Milano 2022 just a few months away, Porro explores the idea of an ideal home. It reflects the ultimate bliss of a domestic setting and the ethereal representation of a perfect abode through its bespoke collection of architectural and interior installations.
Porro’s preview highlights how every individual has a home, a peaceful dwelling that defines them. They showcase how our personalities are a radiant backscattering of where we reside. A home is built on a plethora of memories, with the essence of rekindling with our families. It’s a place where we go back to unwind, rewire, introspect and relax. The effort that goes behind Porro’s style of working is to ensure liveliness through the products that each space is instilled with. Every design aims towards creating a module; tailored to suit a client’s personality and their ideas of a perfect home.
The Italian brand prefers a comprehensive approach to sustainability, with a complete and organic perspective of all parts of its business, including quantifiable and intangible aspects, for existential sustainability and continual progress. Porro’s designs preach the concept of homes with utmost grace and respect by creatively composing systems and furnishings that are unique and nothing less than a personal mise en scene.
The first display in Porro’s preview for Salone Del Mobile 2022, is Piero Lissoni’s collaboration with CRS Porro, to bring forth the Boutique Mast. A rather poetic innovation of a closet space that is minimalistic and vocalises lightness in architecture. Blending in with the perfection of a homely landscape, the bespoke design creates an elegant cage featuring white cherry shelves suspended on thin round iron uprights. Encased in clear glass, the graphic cage blends in extremely well with Piero’s Acquario storage unit honing a Cuvee frame with glass shelves and white cherry drawers. Both are practically set as a direct audience to the perfect landscape.
Another installation in the preview is a collection of doors— Glide, carried on by Piero Lissoni and the industrial design company, Iaco Design studio. The elegant doors have the design capabilities of being perfectly integrated with Porro's wardrobe projects. An extremely private affair confined by neutral tones of wooden panels, creating a spectacular mosaic of connecting spaces in an abode. Porro’s fine quality and their values to instil simplicity in domestic settings, give us the perfect reflection of an abode.
Introduced in 1961, Salone Del Mobile is a vehicle to launch and promote Italian designers. The celebrated design event, spread over 210,000 square metres, showcases thousands of dynamic and creative individuals and design firms. Porro has been a regular participant in the Salone Del Mobile for many years, using the vent grounds as a platform to portray their unique values and design language.
