Nilufar Gallery, based in Milan, Italy, will participate at FOG Design + Art 2024, San Francisco, United States - a showcase event congregating design expertise and talent from around the world. Nina Yashar, founder of Nilufar Gallery, personally curated the selection from Nilufar's vast collection oeuvre, representing a timeless collection with both mid-century and contemporary furniture and design pieces. In the official press statement, Yashar expresses, "We have conceived an all-encompassing interior to explore one of the most interesting facets of today's design world: the dialogue between vintage and contemporary pieces. I am delighted to present our collection at FOG Design + Art, a venue that truly values the connections between the design of yesteryear and tomorrow."

At FOG Design + Art 2024, Nilufar will exhibit exclusive pieces from Gio Ponti, a renowned Italian architect and designer of the 20th century, famous for his inexhaustible curiosity built on the foundation of aesthetics, form, functionality and imagination. Ponti's representative pieces facilitate a liminality of space, perhaps a time travel to the peak of modernity, with design pieces such as a rare folding chair from the late 1950s, a table and a pair of armchairs designed for SS Conte Grande transatlantic passenger ship in 1947, a pair of benches, a bookshelf and two Bilia table lamps. Another notable designer in the modern design collection is Italian designer Franco Albini, whose armchairs are from the 1950s.

Nilufar's other modern showcase also includes a suspended ceiling lamp with spherical glass bulbs held together by stainless steel rims and a structure by designer Giulio Sterbini. Furthermore, a pair of wall lamps by designer Vinicio Vianello incorporate Murano-coloured glass diffusers and are supported by a metal frame.

Nilufar's timeless eccentricity lies in the balance of its modern and contemporary collections. At FOG Design + Art, Nilufar accentuates the space with iconic modern pieces juxtaposed with contemporary, forward-thinking and innovative design pieces. A couple notable carpets is such an example, take the handwoven wool carpet by Swedish designer Barbro Nilsson or the 'Siecha Zenu' carpet by Colombian artist Jorge Lizarazo.

In the contemporary selection, the show's star is Objects of Common Interest studio, founded by the creative duo Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis, who foster all parallels of art, design and architecture in their practice. Their projects range from designing objects and installations to creating immersive and interactive spaces. They are also the founding partners of the architecture firm LOT, dividing their time between New York and Athens. The duo is also renowned for investigating new forms of iridescence while paying homage to Ancient Greece and the Hellenic traditions with objects from their Poikilos collection.

Through Japanese Kiss, a remarkable piece of hand-painted terracotta relief tiles crafted with the desire to breathe new life while paying homage to Lucio Fontana, and four unique hand-painted ceramic trays, Nilufar exhibits the eclectic and instantly recognisable visions of Lola Montes Schnabel. The entire collection comes with two colourful sculptures by Jonathan Trayte and a coffee table by Martino Gamper, completing the selection from the contemporary side.

Nilufar Gallery will be exhibiting at FOG Design + Art 2024, Fort Mason Festival Pavilion, San Francisco, from 18 January, 2024 until 21 January, 2024.
