The upcoming edition of the London Design Festival has creatives and connoisseurs around the world eagerly anticipating its commencement. Set to unfold in 11 districts across London, the design festival will inject the vigour, vision and innovation of the global creative community into the urban fabric of the city—morphing it into a hub for art and design from September 14 - 22, 2024.

Since its inception, its Mayfair Design District (MDD) has been a melting pot of art, design, hospitality and fashion, expanding on its creative foundation with this year's programme as well. In the vibrant design district, visitors will be greeted with an array of exhibitions, immersive installations, new launches, open studios and animated discourses, its programme running during the design event and throughout the Autumn season. "We are thrilled to have the participation of some of today's most inspiring galleries, artists and brands who will bring a unique, bold, surprising and thought-provoking experience to the area," says Anne-Laure Pingreoun, curator and co-founder of the Mayfair Design District.

As the extensive roster of design presentations is soon to activate the locale, STIR, as a media partner with the Mayfair Design District, picks presentations and conversations that will underscore it.

Liquid Light is an immersive installation conceived by renowned artist collective Marshmallow Laser Feast in collaboration with Johnnie Walker, delving into the innovation and craftsmanship of glassmaking. Through extensive research and development, the installation strives to explore the balance between the strength and the fragility of glass as a medium. The centrepiece lays bare a platoon of glass-blown droplets suspended mid-air—symbolising the evolution of form through time. As light passes through these glass entities, a dance of light and shadow will ensue, complemented by a musical score—a juxtaposition of gravity, liquid glass, material, design and innovation.
