Due to the rapid rise of the Omicron variant, SAFI has postponed the Maison and Objet trade event from January to 24-28th March, 2022 at its long-standing location in Parc des Expositions of Paris-Nord Villepinte. The decision followed the latest guidelines issued by the French government to restrict major events and gatherings to 2000 people. It is the second time that Maison&Objet has been impacted by the pandemic, following the cancellation of its physical September 2020 event, which was replaced with an online edition.

Several countries have also placed international travel restrictions. To ensure an optimal return on investments for exhibitors, buyers and specifiers, the bi-annual trade show has been pushed to a time until when they "hope to see an improvement in the situation". The event has been postponed in the hope for better operational and safer conditions in the future which will allow the artist to better showcase their work and forge new business relationships.

Maison&Objet In The City, an event organised on the sidelines of the Maison&Objet fair will offer a journey of discoveries in the heart of Parisian showrooms and will be held from 23 to 28 March 2022.
