Curator of Zaventem Ateliers, Belgian architect Lionel Jadot presents the unique projects of 13 creative studios. Here are the highlights from their presentation at FuoriSalone 2021.

Let me talk

Chandelier made of rattan seats, veneer tulip tree and oak, light fixtures made with handcrafted glass decanter cabochons, secured by 1950s muzzles and wiring dressed in wooden balls turned in New Delhi.

Reverso Mustang

Sofa composed of a bed structure from the 1930s, wooden ceilings by Christophe Gevers, the feet are Danish candlesticks from the 1960s, the armrests are composed of Indian woodturning and elements of chimney pipes, the seats are made with the backs of a 1966 Mustang GT350.

Sit in My Valley 2

This seat echoes the trucks that transport the grain in Rajasthan, the canvas is a weaving of raw wool from mountainous regions of Turkey, the tapestries are a collaboration with Olivia Babel and are imaginary cartographies or sometimes conflict zones. The structure is in solid oak.

SLV

The Slv chair is made of old videotapes that have been joined together using aluminium and brass frames. The piece has been named after the film « Sex, Lies and Videotape3 shot in 1989, written and produced by Steven Soderbergh. A sculptural nod to a videotape that has changed the landscape of American film, paving the way for the thriving independent scene of 1990s.
