The latest Quelle Fête by Dutch art collective Rotganzen and American designer Kelly Wearstler is based on Malibu, taking inspiration from the Pacific Coast, with thunderous rolling waves. The first edition of the Quelle Fête was launched in 2021, featuring five melting balls, honoring the city of Los Angeles. The limited edition series has been meticulously designed in Rotganzen studio, so that each piece mimics the indigenous Pacific Ocean waves. “I’ve always felt a deep personal connection to nature and the sea, so I love that this particular design incorporates some of the majestic elements indicative of California’s innate coastal beauty," says interior designer, Kelly Wearstler. Rotganzen crafted the first Malibu piece with a swirl, to resemble an incoming wave.

The Quelle Fête series marked the expansion of Wearstler’s online gallery, a curated e-commerce platform that features emerging designers and artists from around the world. “I’m so excited to once again work with the Rotganzen team to introduce a new addition to the Quelle Fête series, after such a successful launch last year. While our first collection was inspired by LA, the new Malibu piece pays homage to the Pacific Ocean and its powerful rolling waves”, shares Wearstler. Furthering Wearstler’s commitment to supporting international talent, the Quelle Fête Malibu series will be exclusively available on her online platform.

The new edition of the series reflects Malibu’s warmth and joy, with pieces that ape the ebb and flow of the Pacific coastline. The glittering pieces act as ideal pop art that can be draped across the nightstand or perched in a corner to elevate the look of any room. Rotgazens, The Netherlands-based art collective consists of Joeri Horstink, Erik Schilp, and Robin Stambridge. Bridging art and design, Rotgazens takes cues from everyday life and pop culture to create intriguing sculptures and artwork. They convey the beauty in simplistic design through the intricate use of colours and carefully curated materials.
