American designer, Kelly Wearstler has collaborated with Tech Lighting on a new collection of lighting products that are defined by pure geometries and sophisticated materiality. Designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces, the collection is versatile, minimal and technologically in tune with modern offerings. The elemental characteristics of these designs are thoughtfully balanced out against the light falling out gracefully from them.

Founded in 1987, Tech Lighting is a US based company that manufactures decorative lighting products. With a special focus on originality and quality, the brand collaborates with prominent lighting and interior designers to deliver innovative and technologically modern products that are iconic and timeless and are built to inhabit both indoor and outdoor spaces. With this intention, the brand recently collaborated with Kelly Wearstler on the new lighting collection that comprises five different sub-collections, all of which derive inspiration from distinct sources.

The five sub-collections, namely Kulma, Espera, Phobos, Cerne and Ebell, come in a variety of fixtures that are versatile enough to occupy a wide range of spaces. They are sculpted out in high-quality metal that houses the LED lights and beautifully illuminates the spaces around it in a striking manner.

The Kulma luminaires are shaped like the ancient and almost ubiquitous design reserved for lighting products. Perfect for broody environments that need just a hint of light, the Kulma pendant light, wall light, table lamp and sconce light, all are shaped as rectilinear pieces that can occupy a space without any ostentation and can emit planar beams that are just enough to lighten up a space, while still retaining its mysterious value.

While the Kulma luminaires are defined by straight lines and sharp edges, the Esfera collection relies on curves and softer geometries. It is designed to occupy a centre space, to define, and sometimes, re-define the look and appearance of a space. While the metal detailing of Esfera luminaires is laidback and minimal, the glass fixtures, designed to appear like illuminating prisms, are what stand out boldly, often mimicking chandeliers and making a grand display of themselves.

The Phobos collection, like Esfera, commands a similarly powerful presence in any given space. However, it differentiates itself through its streamlined appearance that is characterised by intersecting geometries. The Cerne collection comprises refined and minimalist lighting pieces, that are defined by minimal circular etchings. The fifth sub-collection, Ebell, embodies the characteristics of all four lighting collections. It is defined by both curves and rectilinear lines in equal measure and can either blend in with the surroundings with their flush mount fixtures or make an ostentatious show of themselves with their magnificent floor and table lamps.
