A legacy of luxury design since 1882, Gervasoni collaborates with iconic designers to create furniture collections for domestic living spaces. The 2022 collection has been curated to embrace the variety and complexity of thoughts, processes and creative approaches that continue to diversify the range but effectively unites each of the products with quality in contemporaneity. Designers including Chiara Andreatti, Elena Sanguankeo, Paola Navone, Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, Federica Biasi, Federico Peri, David Lopez Quincoces and Cristina Celestino, worked to uniquely reflect each of their design philosophies while taking care of the Italian brand’s expressive mix of values, love for innovation, individualistic design language and the care for details. Both the indoor and outdoor collections by Gervasoni have led the company to experiment with newer ways of shaping up its domestic universe.

The Gervasoni outdoor collection showcases a careful selection of natural materials. The designers use traditional materials while highlighting the skilled Italian craftsmanship to bring forth furnishing solutions that can withstand different atmospheric agents without losing their grace over time. Guna by Chiara Andreatti, a designer based in Milan, holds a strong multi-ethnic inspiration and employs the cultural Indo-European technique of ‘envelopment’ that is the art of weaving a rope using a single string. She presents a collection of multi-coloured carpets, charpoys, cushions and coffee tables that ascribe ethnicity not just to their look, feel and design, but also to the technology behind their creation. Similarly, the Eco outdoor rug collection by the Italo-Thailandese textile designer Elena Sanguankeo is a result of profound research and personal experiences. The designer worked with Gervasoni to channel the vibrations, sounds and colours of nature in a subtle design synthesis between tradition and innovation.

Paola Navone’s Jeko Collection is a steady example in using salvaged wood for creating luxury furniture pieces. Each of the contents of the collection has been curated and structured in ECOTeak, a material obtained from reused beams and elements in teak recovered post-demolition. The Milan-based architect and designer created a series of dining tables and lounge chairs of different heights which held the character of the colonial design style while accentuating the comfort and opulence using rich finishes and upholstery.

Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, prolific names in the world of design, also aligned forces with Gervasoni to create the Flair modular sofas. It's unique in the way that it embraces informality and sinuosity in design while having set designatory constraints. The sofa is structured in steel, treated for the outdoors while combining the softness of the upholstery and the seating cushions. Complimenting the solid nature of the sofa, Federica Biasi’s Brise round tables and the Hashi sofa and rocking chair have outdoor conviviality as the key to the collections. Brise tables are light, airy, bubbly and reflect dynamism through the colours they are available in while the Hashi collection, which translates to ‘chopsticks’ in Japanese, emanates exotic and oriental inspirations through the design and finishes.

Serving opulence on a platter, Gervasoni’s indoor collection features a careful selection of materials interlaced with skilled dexterity and innovation to present furniture solutions best suited for adapting to varied styles and spaces. The collection includes Daen by Federico Peri, composed of tables and sideboards. With Daen, the Milan-based designer marries contemporaneity and materiality in design, giving life to an atmosphere rich in an elegant and refined spirit. The tables and sideboards feature clean lines and geometric volumes while referring to the elliptical shape of the steel legs. Similarly, the Yelek dining chairs, designed by Federica Biasi create a design contrast by holding a free-flowing and soft personality. The designer gives special attention to the details of the chair using a shell-shaped backrest encircling the seat while being sophisticatedly dressed as a down jacket over a wooden structure.

Furthermore, adding to the Italian brand’s indoor collection are the design collections by David Lopez Quincoces - Heiko and Saia. Heiko is a collection of coffee tables that are simple and uncomplicated. They appear as half-spheres perfectly balanced on the ground; defined by well-rounded lines and a rounded base that makes these tables appear to be floating in space. At the same time, Saia features a collection of upholstered furniture composed of sofas, armchairs and dining chairs. It is a classic ideal reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Interestingly, ‘saia’ is a Portuguese term for ‘skirt’ that Quincoces conceptualises in the design by adding removable covers on the structures.

The indoor collection is adorned even further with Cristina Celestino’s Plumeau bed. The Plumeau bed, surrounded by an enveloping upholstered frame, exposes its essence in delicate, flowing lines that evoke the world of fabrics. This innovative idea arose from a desire to redefine nighttime well-being in a modern context through a story influenced by the aesthetics of Asian nomads. In reality, the cushioned and detachable surface is suggestive of the cloaks and tents used by the people who live in Mongolia's grasslands, a remote environment with dreamlike atmospheres.
