Milan Design Week, apart from being a platform for individuality and unique creative expression, is also a catalyst for synergy and the semantics of collaboration that ensues. On the occasion of the design festival, Italian brand Furla breathed life into a new partnership with Magnificat that aligned with its expansion goals and yielded the Furla Home line. Furla Group has signed a licensing agreement with the leading developer of home and lifestyle collections for the production and distribution of the home collections globally. Two worlds—fashion and design—fuse together and focus on craftsmanship and technological innovation. The ensemble expresses authenticity and inclusivity, which is a nod to the brand’s DNA while enunciating a distinctive style and aesthetic that upholds functionality. “Our mission with Furla Home is to represent the most refined qualities of Italian lifestyle in the world. Every single creation is as synonymous with elegance and creativity as the brand it represents. The cultural values that inspire us are the natural extension of Furla's DNA to dress homes," says Alessio Sghinolfi, CEO of Magnificat.

The Furla Home project stems from the values that constitute the brand’s ethos—a focus on made in Italy, perpetuating tradition, craft, innovation, and sustainability. The furniture design and accessories reflect an awareness of contemporary living while uplifting its simplicity in a fusion of unique ideas and details. Harnessing the impact that the quality of design and style can have on mundane lives, the brand crafts objects that complement the versatility of contemporary interiors and products that bring warmth to the places people inhabit.

The collection comprises furniture design and accessories for domestic spaces—compositions where the sphere of fashion amalgamates with that of design. The curiosity and energy injected by fashion design veers the mind to imagine something unique in mundane items that live within homes. The soft silhouettes define the atmosphere of Furla rooms—warm and welcoming. The use of light tones predominates, while using pops of colour are employed to make a powerful statement and make the designs emerge in a certain way.

Furniture pieces that partake in the collection cater to living rooms, dining rooms and the rest of the home. The product designs aspire to redefine rooms with versatility and personal touches. Textile artefacts and accessories such as pillows, rugs, textiles as well as table decor complete the line. Collections of objects, ranging from the pragmatic to the playful, are perched in the interior spaces as subtle accompaniments of the furniture. Each piece is made from carefully selected materials including metals and essences, leathers and fabrics, and yarns made by special processing methods and weaving techniques. The finishes and detailing are made possible by dextrous manual processes. The designs aim to inspire people's creativity and become primary interpreters of their own space.

The geometric and innovative shapes and lines combine a timeless design that adds character to the settings that they occupy—speaking of a refined aesthetic language and overall harmony. The idea of femininity, a value of identity that goes beyond what appears, and a language of individuality permeate across the collection. Chair designs, armchairs, sofas, and table designs with surprising shapes of a strong aesthetic presence prioritise maximum comfort. Akin to the furniture, the accessories are designed to stimulate an experiential vision of a home—decorative objects with sinuous shapes, carpets and cushions with inviting textures and mirrors that suggest a compelling intensity. The objects bolster an idea of a home as a relaxing space of reflection, where people can immerse in feelings and infuse their personality.

Furla has built a global reputation of achieving accessible luxury rooted in Italian style and handicraft—epitomising quality, creativity, inclusiveness and elegance since its inception. Founded in Bologna, Italy, in 1927 by Aldo Furlanetto, the company has an oeuvre of high-quality handbags, footwear and small leather goods for a wide consumer audience. As the brand strives towards becoming more sustainable, it augments its repository with new product categories and innovations. This line of designs in collaboration with Magnificat emerges as a facilitator for those who wish to admire the ordinary every day.
