Aritco, a Swedish lift company, founded in 1995 emerged as a manufacturer of lifts for homes, schools, offices and retail stores. The main motive of Aritco behind every production is to merge the two paths of efficiency and aesthetics so that a timeless product could be manufactured. Its sensitivity to innovation, sustainability and reliability makes them one of the leading brands especially in Scandinavian designs . The company has also won some major achievements like Red Dot Product Award 2017 and European Product Design Awards making a stand in the industry. In 2016, the company launched the Aritco HomeLift, an all-new product in the market analysing the modern lifestyles and the coming boom in the smart homes of the future.

Aritco HomeLift Compact

The Aritco HomeLift Compact designed keeping in mind the concept of a compact home and space efficiency is the latest edition lift launched by the award-winning Swedish lift company, Aritco. The lift has an easy installation process, as it comes in pre-cut parts with a shaft that can be extended up to six floors and has the capacity of carrying two people. Adding to its energy efficiency, it utilises the same power taken by a regular washing machine or a dishwasher. “All homes deserve the convenience and accessibility offered by a home lift, but many don’t have enough space for one,” says David Schill, marketing director at Aritco Lift. The lift shaft is lined with acoustic black felt panels made from recycled bottles, ensuring there is no noise seepage. With embedded technologies, the Aritco HomeLift compact showcases as one of the safest lifts on the market with 95 per cent of its parts being recyclable.

The Lervik’s House

Alexander Lervik & Evelina Kroon, well-known Swedish designers, collaborated with Aritco for the installation of the compact lift at their Villa Lervik so that the house should make as little impact on the environment as possible over time.

“Villa Lervik is a split-level house which has the kitchen on the upper floor, so it was a natural decision to install a lift so that we can stay in the house for as long as we live,” says Alexander. “We wanted to create a welcoming home that will last for generations''. In this project, Alexander developed the base concept in 2016 and worked with Evelina Kroon, a graphic artist, on Geometric the latest DesignWall addition to the lift. For the uninitiated, the DesignWall is the illuminated design inside the lift adding an interesting design element to the space, and inclining towards modern trends and lifestyles.

The 100 Year Home

Aritco, showing its sensitivity towards sustainability, has launched a new trend report ‘The 100 Year Home’ which talks about 17 cutting edge innovations on how to make homes sustainable and energy efficient to make them smarter, greener, and last longer. “The concept of the 100-year home is an enduring symbol of hope for chaotic times”. Co-created by Springwise and Aritco, the report is divided into three sections—Generate, Save and Secure—shedding light on how to generate your own power, while saving money and the planet, as well as remaining secure from future threats of environmental change. It also mentions innovations like wind turbine walls, solar panels resembling bricks turning homes into power generators, and other such techniques and technologies. The report has also been discussed in a panel discussion at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2023 on 8th February.

Aritco being one of the leading brands in the furniture industry has also made its mark at The Stockholm Design Week. The design week organised by Stockholm Furniture Fair, invites more than 100 furniture brands, design studios, galleries, and museums to participate and showcase their innovations. The Stockholm Furniture Fair, attracts visitors from over 100 countries, showcasing designs of around 400 exhibitors from the lighting and furniture industry and has highlighted Scandinavian designs, this time around. In this year's edition, the main installation was by Swedish design studio Front, along with some new additions including platforms like Älvsjö gård, which focused on collectable design and exhibition ‘The Nude Edition’ displayed designs made from recycled products.

In the Stockholm Design Week, Aritco not only showcased its products and its newly launched report but also created a meaningful dialogue through Aritco Talks, where the speakers discussed how one can futureproof the built environment, how planners can ensure our homes are safe, and how to move towards creating a smart home that adds to its sustainability. The keynote speakers of the talk were Maria Axelsson, Erik Olsson, ToveChevalley, and David Schill. Aritco at the design fair aimed at triggering and awakening common minds towards the challenges of the coming future, one with extreme climatic changes; guiding us on how to deal with those issues—by making our homes a place that generates its own energy, sustains on its own and which could last for a century.
