For the second edition of MDF Mexico Design Fair, in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, CGN presented unseen work by designers Perla Castañón, Edgar Orlaineta, Carlos Torre Hütt, César Ponce, Matali Crasset, Marc Morro and Todomuta Studio. Objects that tell a story about the times we live in today, and that transcend their time and their utilitarian nature to enhance an inhabited place, made up both the main exhibition at Casa Naila and the satellite exhibition at Casa Tiny. Vegetable fibers, such as wicker and rattan, were among the main materials featured in the exhibit, with pieces such as the Sattva set designed by Perla Castañón, the Cola de venado tables by César Ponce and Carlos Torre Hütt, and the Faces chairs by Edgar Orlaineta, collections produced by brand Rattan. These objects showed the possibilities that the material offers for the execution of contemporary design pieces, highlighting also, through different weaving styles, the skill of handmade work. The exhibition began with the Still Life collection of ceramic vase sets, designed by Edgar Orlaineta, available in nine engobe colors, and concluded in a hall where the Watershed rug by Matali Crasset, produced by Odabashian; the Redilas I console by Carlos Torre Hütt, the Palma armchair by Marc Morro and the Inblock table by Todomuta Studio, were arranged together to emphasize the harmony of contrasting pieces.
