AKKA Project is pleased to announce the upcoming show Jimmy Kitheka: Falena From Nairobi, a solo exhibition by the Kenyan emerging artist, running from June 10th to August 25th, 2023, in conjunction with the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale, and officially opening on the occasion of the Art Night in Venice 2023 on June 17th.
Venice, Italy - The vibrant emerging artist, Jimmy Kitheka, is thrilled to present his first solo exhibition in Venice, titled Falena From Nairobi. The exhibition marks the culmination of Jimmy's residency pursued in Italy in October 2022. The residency is a result of a fruitful collaboration between the AKKA Project and the University of Macerata, Marche.
During his residency in Venice, Jimmy spent some time exploring the city before being hosted at the Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Education Sciences, at the Macerata University, as part of the European Project TPAAE, which is dedicated to transcultural perspectives in arts and art education and provided Jimmy with an opportunity to engage with Fine Arts professors and students, where he also taught his painting classes.
Falena From Nairobi exhibition showcases Jimmy Kitheka's captivating impressionistic canvases, depicting the stunning views of the two Italian cities he visited, Venice and Macerata. The works are evocative, with shadows and blur effects that convey a sense of nostalgia, which is the hallmark of Jimmy's signature style.
Art enthusiasts and collectors will not want to miss this incredible exhibition by Jimmy Kitheka at AKKA Project Venice. The show is a testament to the artist's creative talent and artistic vision, which is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who attend.
