Event Details

Concéntrico is the International Festival of Architecture and Design of Logroño that proposes to reflect on the urban environment and the city. The new edition, Concéntrico 07, will be held from September 2 to 5, 2021.

The festival invites you to tour the city through facilities, meetings, activities, and exhibitions that discuss public space and places of coexistence - more relevant at this time of the pandemic - with a focus on the sustainability of materials and processes.

Since 2015, the festival has brought together 73 urban installations in its six editions, in addition to the proposals of 18 teams participating in Concéntrico 07 in 2021:

The program is expanded in this edition with other activities, workshops, and exhibitions, such as meetings and conversations with the support of Acción Cultural Española - International leading entities in the field of architecture that share their vision of the sector.

Among them will be the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation from Germany, Arkki from Finland, the Lisbon Triennial from Portugal, Storefront for Art and Architecture, and MAS Context from the United States or Mextrópoli from Mexico.

The seventh edition of Concéntrico expands the festival's usual focus, the Historic Center of Logroño, and connects that area with spaces that allow creating new approaches to the urban environment.

To the already usual spaces, new locations are added that are a clear example of the festival's objectives, a project in constant listening that evolves to continue raising debates that focus on the city itself: the La Villanueva neighborhood, the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the new Intermodal Station, the renovated courtyard of the La Rioja Museum, and notably the Ebro Park, where three proposals will be located.

The urban character of Concéntrico is linked to sustainable processes. In this sense, the new locations, selected for their high landscape and ecological value, which seek to strengthen the relationship with the natural space of the Ebro River, the heritage, and the history of the context, stand out in this regard. Spaces with Viña Lanciano, or those near the river, are a good example of this.

Project management is focused on the reuse and recycling of interventions. The base material we use is also relevant, Garnica wood, which plays a fundamental role in the circular economy since it is renewable, recyclable, reusable, and biodegradable. This area is expanded in 2021 with signage, programs, and exhibitions, with sustainable material.
