The Mexican interior designer presents his second collection, 'Forms of Stone'. As its name describes, Daniel chose the different stones of the area as the main inspiration for this new creation. Faithful to his sustainable philosophy and based on the raw material offered by the Earth, stone (in all its forms and colours) becomes the protagonist; without leaving aside the artist's characteristic initiative, the mixture of natural materials, also including different types of wood, palm and outdoor textiles.
The interior design studio based in Tulum, led by Daniel Orozco, explores the designer's vision in which nature is brought to decorative objects and furniture that honour its origin and celebrate the versatility of each material. The creative process lasted almost a year, from sketching to the final stage, going through different trial and error tests to ensure that the quality of each object was impeccable because, as the designer says, aesthetics are not at odds with functionality.
The forms of nature, especially the sphere, are a consistent element in Daniel Orozco's pieces, which are transformed in each design, proving the versatility of this form and its capacity for change. It is possible to find volcanic stone; white, grey, red, and orange quarry; white, pink, black marble; and granite.
The collection consists of more than thirty pieces. The woods also come in different finishes and styles to create endless combinations with the same elements and shapes but wholly transformed by changing the finish or origin, such as burnt wood, cedar, and white cedar. Finally, it is also possible to find other materials that go well with stone and wood, such as seaweed, suede, and even velvet.
I describe this collection as bold, unique, and innovative, representing a single piece's union between design, craftsmanship, and materials. This collection is different from the rest because the mix of materials and arranged elements makes each piece different even if it has the same shape or material, adds Daniel Orozco.
