Switzerland-based Studioforma Design is known for integrating eccentricity in all their creations. Whether it is a chair, a table or a sofa or the interiors of a retail space, Studioforma’s founder Alex Leuzinger suffuses each design with varying degrees of extravagance. This opulence is also apparent in Luxury Piercing Boutique, an interior design project by the studio that was recently awarded the ‘Best Luxury Beauty Salon Design’ at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2022. Stationed on the Bahnhofstrasse street in Zurich, ‘Luxury Piercing boutique’ has been created by the Swiss design studio for Giada Ilardo, an international piercing studio and one of the first luxury piercing jewellery manufacturers in the world.

Studioforma Design’s interiors for this space are abundant in hues of white and pink. Emotive sculptures and well-placed luminaires further vitalise this expanse of this boutique in Zurich. Functioning dually as an interesting spot for the piercing brand and as an immersive experience, the space is designed to surprise and delight at every turn. The lights, stationed and angled within the space for maximum impact, are ideal accompaniments to the distorted expressionist sculptures. The spacious boutique, dotted with innovative sculptures and light configurations at random intervals, offer a memorable experience.

The boutique on Bahnhofstrasse street, spread across three storeys, was earlier rented out to the Zara Home chain. Today, it illuminates one of Zurich’s main streets with its delicately configured grandiosity. Alex Leuzinger undertook this project with the intent of designing an eye-catching, extraordinary facility that not only fits the requirements of the prime location on the world-famous shopping street but also draws in walk-in customers. His well-crafted space gives the impression of a canvas painted with a backdrop of sand dunes with pink skies and floating mannequin heads soaking in the flamboyant interiors.

The decor of the ‘Giada Ilardo Luxury Piercing Boutique’ reflects the sophistication, joy, and warmth associated with Giada Ilardo, founder of the eponymous boutique. The first floor welcomes customers into a warm, inviting, and comfortable environment. Luxury jewellery pieces are tastefully placed on natural travertine elements so that the piercing specialists may offer a comprehensive consultation. Complementing the atmosphere of the space, the second floor, too, offers a sense of serenity. Sections of the boutique meant for piercing intimate parts of the body are equipped with well-furnished private rooms on this floor. The shop's basement serves as the internal design studio for the opulent masterpieces.

Studioforma Design was also awarded the ‘Best Luxury Architect Studio in Switzerland’ and ‘Best Luxury Interior Design Studio in Switzerland’ at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2022.
