Marioni presents Sunset furnishing collection in Florence

The Sunset Collection by architect Piero Angelo Orecchioni for furniture and lighting studio, Marioni is part of the Italian brand's extensive range of Notorious Collection. Notorious, a collection of contemporary furniture, upholstery and lighting fixtures has a retro soul, inspired by the style of the 1940s. The line of furnishings with the 100% 'Made in Italy' manufacturing, projects a refined sense of beauty that propels one directly onto a Hollywood movie set. Its use of unusual and exotic essences like ebony and rosewood, warm coatings such as parchment and leather, refined fabrics and precious marbles such Saint Laurent, enamels and crystallines with metallic reflections, uniquely combines a sense of sophistication with charm and elegance.

Sunset, initially conceived as only a lighting line, has been further evolved to incorporate exclusive furnishings such as bookcases, consoles and the coffee table. The furniture pieces feature shapes and materials that contrast and balance each other to form striking offerings. The pieces were recently presented in the La Datina showroom in Borgo Ognissanti 54 / 56r. The exhibition will run across December and is open to visitors.

Resting on a black brushed wooden base, it is enclosed in a brass structure with extra-clear crystal shelves and a bronzed mirror bottom. The body is adorned with geometric elements in enameled ceramic which is customisable by the brand upon request. Each bookcase in the Notorious collection stands out for the balance of proportions, attention to detail and the refined materials used.‎

The console and coffee table are crafted with brass structure and decorative elements in glazed ceramics. An entertaining play of light and depth is achieved through the extra clear glass top and the lower shelf in a bronzed mirror glass. The wooden base is brushed with lacquer.The intentional irregular layout of ceramic elements on each furniture side, allows for a different and unconventional perspective.The colours of the ceramic tiles and the dimensions of the table can be customised to add a personal touch to every piece. Each piece reflects a class and timeless elegance which is representative of Italian creativity.
