Lema exhibited at the Supersalone 2021, a reference point for interaction with retailers, architects, the press and designers. The protagonist of this particular setting was the Ombra chair and armchair by Piero Lissoni, art director of Lema since 1994. Poetic in its essentiality, the Ombra chair and armchair was the protagonist of the refined wall-mounted installation, where Lema’s quintessential discretion and Piero Lissoni’s rigorous line were emphasised. For this special event, Lema presented a special edition of Ombra, with a red-painted frame and a leather shell in the same colour, highlighting its peculiarities and different design features.

Ombra is characterised by its rarefied, finely designed structure: the lines that outline the black, grey or red-painted metal structure, both sleek and solid, support the shell that seamlessly accommodates the seat and backrest. Made from a sheet of printed rigid polypropylene, the shell can come also with the black hide on the upper side or a full covering in leather, complete with ultra-thin padding. Another protagonist of the installation was the Sesto table by Piero Lissoni, which represented the archetype of the table in its formal essentiality. Strongly contemporary design, created with impeccable elegance, it is characterised by the lightness of the rectangular top supported by the double trestle base.

Among the 2021 new products on display in the shop, was the MyNight bed by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, characterised by the strong volumetric presence of the mattress, contrasted by the minimalist essentiality of the platform, reduced to a thin sheet floating on the floor, and Florens: a group of furniture with drawers, floor-standing bedside tables and drawer dressers, with great storage capacity, which fit with discreet charm into the bedroom area.

Another interesting proposal designed by the Buratti brothers, is the Ortis writing desk and coffee table with drawer, distinguished by the refined structure of metal tubes anchored to semi-circular plates at the base, combined with an oval top. The first, designed for the new dynamics of the domestic space, for studying and working at home, is once again an intriguing addition to contemporary interiors, both for the living and sleeping areas. The coffee table, designed for the bedroom area, also perfectly adapts to other rooms in the home, enhancing lounges and social spaces.

Lema- Armadio al Centimetro

The same atmosphere can be perceived in the company’s showroom in Alzate Brianza. Here, the evolution of the Armadio al Centimetro wardrobe made with 100% recyclable ‘green’ materials and new technological and design solutions, is displayed in its countless compositional possibilities, also in the choice of sizes and finishes.

About Lema

Now one of the greatest champions of Italian style around the world, Lema was founded in 1970 by the Meroni family – who still run the company to this day, drawing on traditions that date back to the early post-war years. The group includes home, contract and office departments, working with IOC Project Partners on the latter. Lema was the first Italian company to develop a system with load-bearing side panels in multiple finishes, as well as launching the Armadio al Centimetro wardrobe, custom-built for the customer. These two products are the symbol of the attention that the company reserves to the public and that is expressed today in a complete catalogue that ranges from modular systems for the living area and the bedroom to freestanding furnishings that include tables, beds, chairs and accessories in addition to the latest collections of padded furniture. Products with a sophisticated appeal, all distinguished by a wide range of customisation options to respond to the various aesthetic and functional needs of the clientele. What distinguishes Lema in the panorama of international design is above all its great ability to develop custom-made solutions, together with the greatest architects, for the realisation of prestigious contract projects that the brand carries out throughout the world.
