Based on Baroncelli’s geometric-inspired investigations the project launches three new series of works: Halos, Lapis Speculo and the Miniment series. Displayed at Rossana Orlandi , these different and complementary families explore the infinite play between the objective and the reflective nature of design.
The Halos family is composed of a glass pendant and wall light that hover on the limits of form and function. Halos’ illuminated clear glass elements reveal a constellation of traces intrinsic to the nature of glassmaking itself. These delicate organic patterns form the ethereal atmospheric galaxy that is perched between light and darkness.
The Lapis Speculo family consists of a series of glass mirrored wall pieces that create mesmerising and contemplative landscapes. Each piece is a puzzle-like composition of shimmering shapes that initiates a narrative of geometric lines. The Miniments are a family of sculptures that play on the idea of the monument and monumentality. Each Miniment is a unique geometrical totem-like composition of different shapes and colours in vintage upcycled glass. Collectively the Miniments make up an architectural topography of endless ornamental scenarios, rooted in a narrative play of forms and colours.
