NOMAD, the renowned cultural event that celebrates the fusion of and the unique dialogue between art, architecture and design, is set to unveil its next edition from February 20 - 23, 2025, in St. Moritz, Switzerland. This international festival brings together artists, performers and creatives from diverse backgrounds to showcase their works, often in unconventional venues or settings, reflecting the nomadic spirit of the event. In its upcoming iteration, the former Klinik Gut, a current construction site amid the Alps, will be morphed into an international stage where contemporary art and collectible design come together in a site-specific, immersive exhibition.
Italian gallery Volumnia will partake in the art and design event with the project titled Whispers of the past, echoes of the future. The project explores a unique dialogue between historical and contemporary design. Here, José Zanine Caldas, Giovanni Gariboldi, Carlo Scarpa and Mario Ceroli will meet the poetry of renowned designers.
The use of natural materials such as raw wood, silk, rice paper and the repurposing of ancient fabrics creates a harmony of forms and textures that reflect beauty, authenticity and respect for the environment. A constant search for truth, where nature inspires and nourishes their creations will be showcased. With an ecological sensitivity and refined aesthetics, the project seamlessly integrates into a context that celebrates the contemporary without forgetting the past, looking towards a future where sustainability and beauty converge in harmony.
