Karim Rashid has created a collection of wall coverings titled Dature for Italian surface brand TAPLAB Wall Covering. An example of new media art, the collection reflects the optimistic, colorful and eclectic personality of the Anglo-Egyptian designer. In our age where everything can be translated into a flow of data, even nature, amorphous, organic and dystrophic, in its fluidity becomes a datum that, like the infinite others that surround us, can be represented thanks to a creative inspiration borrowed from digital imaging and transferred directly to the wall thanks to the most advanced technologies. "Our digital tools have made it possible to create decoration and patterns that were never before possible and I believe that these patterns communicate to the time in which we live," says Karim.

The collection contains all the distinctive features of Rashid's design: the bright colors, almost fluorescent, the sinuous and soft shapes, the content of creative research for which each new creation represents a step beyond what until recently was the known limit of creative approach. A constantly evolving language that today also brings identity to the decoration of the walls. The collection includes five repeatable patterns and five non-repeatable mural versions, in three colorways each. The patterns range from soft subtle movements to kaleidoscopic frescos.
