The Biellese fabric mill with over 350 years of history symbolising ‘Made in Italy’ excellence,Vitale Barberis Canonico, works in collaboration with Nichetto Studio to bring into existence the BeMyGuest lamps created by Swedish designer Luca Nichetto for the historical Italian company in an exclusive limited edition. The pieces, which reflect the company's meticulous attention to detail, will be exhibited in its showroom at Via Solferino 23. Aligning the work ethic and design approach, the coming together of the two collaborators, establishes an intersection between the realm of design and fashion, elucidating what they share in common. BeMyGuest is interpreted as a personality having its own charisma, and each piece is costumed by Anthony Knight using pieces of Vitale Barberis Canonico fabric.

Implicative of anthropomorphic figures, the lamps are shaped out of resin and blown Murano glass, relying on the skills acquired from the ancient art of master glass blowers. Ensconced in the area abutting the entrance, the space uses a tailor’s shop as its muse, where a myriad of paper models hang. Steadily, the viewers are ushered through the space which then opens into a British-style whisky bar.

Among other products on display will be icons from the Nichetto and Hoffmann collections of the traditional Austrian manufactory Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten – Andes armchair and sofa, Acacia lamp, Antilles side table and Kubus armchair by Josef Hoffmann – and the La Manufacture collection encompassing Val Lounge chair, Trio coffee table, Olindias bar stool and the Allié table stools, both brands for which Luca Nichetto is the art director.

A unique Steinway & Sons B-211 Spirio Black Masterpiece piano available in just 20 limited edition pieces in all the world will add to the starry lineup. A sophisticated ambience where the humanoid lamps – donning the classic Vitale Barberis Canonico collections – are morphed into the patrons of a whisky bar: a singer, a businessman, an intellectual author, a detective, a university professor, a journalist, an influencer, a politician and a representative of the nobility.

Vitale Barberis Canonico has been creating exemplary textiles for the clothing industry for decades and is among the global pioneers across the world producing completely ‘Made in Italy’ fabrics. Partnering with Nichetto’s multidisciplinary design practice that has earned an unrivalled position within both Scandinavian and Italian design, the company continues its crusade embodying heritage, innovation and elegance.

BeMyGuest will be open to the public all the week of Fuorisalone, from 7th – 12th June, in the Vitale Barberis Canonico showroom in Via Solferino 23.
