This year, BNDNWK took place under special circumstances as a hybrid format. For 2022, we are again planning a physical BNDNWK, which will take place from 12 to 22 May under the theme Higher Purpose. Of course, the BNDNWK 2022 will also complement an online programme.
Under the theme Higher Purpose, we are dedicated to defining a more sustainable, "better future" and invite programme partners to present ideas on how to make it happen.
How will we shape our future? Like many others, we have been asking ourselves over the past year what path to take after the Corona crisis. We believe that now is the time for transformational change and new perspectives.
The great challenge of our time is to develop concepts that reduce our consumption – and with it our production, use of resources, and pollution – while improving our quality of life in a sustainable way. In doing so, we must consider different aspects: Environmental and climate protection, social equity, the economy, global networks and connectivity. What we need is innovation in production and the economy that does not compete with this idea – creativity is not limited to design, it also applies to science and technology.
As such, design can observe, mediate and provide solutions, it can define problems and also solve them. With this year's focus Higher Purpose, we invite you to think and define this "better future" and present ideas on how we can make it happen.
